Coach-trailer crash claims two lives

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 26: Two people were killed and nine others were seriously injured in a road accident near government degree college Kandiaro on Thursday.

A Karachi-bound coach coming from Dera Ghazi Khan collided with a trailer coming from opposite side on the National Highway.A man died on the spot. Injured Shahid and Zafar Iqbal were taken to Nawabshah hospital but Shahid succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital.

Ms Saima, her son Abid Hussain and her brother Irfan Ali were taken to Karachi whereas Ameer and other injured were shifted to Sukkur hospital.

The deceased killed on the spot remained unidentified and his body was lying in taluka hospital Kandiaro.

The drivers of the trailer and the coach escaped from the scene.

The National Highway remained blocked for about several hours and traffic remained jam after the crash as one track of the national highway was under construction.

Later, the Motorway and Kandiaro police removed the trailer with a crane and reopened the road to traffic.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
