Druggists observe strike against killing

MIRPURKHAS, June 26: Wholesalers and medical stores observed strike on Thursday at the call of Chemists and Druggists Association in protest against police failure to nab robbers and killers of Kamran Masih, driver of a pharmaceutical company. He was killed on Wednesday while resisting a robbery bid near Digri town.

People affiliated with the pharmaceutical business burnt tyres and held demonstration at Hyderabad Road when his dead body was brought to Mirpurkhas from Digri, on Wednesday night. They dispersed on the assurance of police to catch the culprits soon.

Protesting wholesalers and medical stores, led by President Chemists and Druggists Association, Mohammad Rafique Arain, took out a rally from the Railway Station Chowk and marched on main roads.

Protesters pelted stones on shops near Citizen Gymkhana resulting in the closure of Hyderabad Road from both sides. They also placed obstructions leading to suspension of traffic for two hours.

Landlord kidnapped: A landlord was kidnapped from near the Bachal Mahar Link Road in the jurisdiction of Khaan police station here, on Thursday morning.

According to reports Essar Das Meghwar was going on the motorbike when kidnapped by unidentified men at gunpoint. Police later recovered his bike from near the Bachal Mahar Link Road.

SHO Khaan police station, Khuda Bux Panhwar said that he was trying to get the clue of the kidnappe.

No case was lodged till the filing of this report.

BOOKED: Seven people, including District Coordinator HRCP Core Group Mirpurkhas were booked by the Satellite Town police following an order of the District and Sessions Court Mirpurkhas, here on Wednesday.

District and Sessions Judge Mirpurkhas Rasheed Ahmed Soomro directed the SHO Satellite Town police to register a case on the complaint of Khalid Hussain Gujjar.

The Satellite Town police lodged a case against District Coordinator HRCP Core Group Kanji Rano Mal advocate, Hatim, Raj, Gordhan, Chandio, Parkash and Ms Kamla, all Bheel by caste.

Complainant alleged that the above accused came to his plot near Hyderabad Road on June 7, created hurdle in the construction work and also attacked those present there with sticks, injuring Mulazim Gujjar and Arshad Gujjar.
