Minister visits polling stations

By Our Correspondent

KHAIRPUR, June 25: To supervise arrangements for Thursday’s by-elections on PS-30, Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza visited the Kingri taluka on Wednesday.

He categorically refuted the impression that his visit was by any means, aimed at influencing the process.

Talking to journalists while inspecting different polling stations, he expressed his satisfaction over arrangements. He said history notifies that PPP never believed in rigging and its workers had been clearly cautioned against thinking over it, while opponents too, would not be allowed. He said that he will discuss compensation to PPP worker Wali Mohammad Kanhar’s family with party’s leaders.

He claimed that whenever a crime was reported in upper Sindh, the clues were found in Shikarpur district and as such it had been decided to launch an operation there. He said the government will not tolerate any influence by feudal lords during operation against dacoits and criminals.
