MARDAN: 3 of a family shot dead in Mardan

By Our Correspondent

MARDAN, June 25: Three members of a family, including a teenaged girl, were gunned down when a rival group barged into their house at Babuzai village following a family feud on Wednesday.

According to the FIR, two brothers Hakeem Khan and Hukam Khan and their accomplice Riaz allegedly attacked the house of their rivals Nekamal Shah and Qaisar Shah and opened fire on the inmates. As a result Qaisar Shah, Nekamal Shah and a teenaged girl Sumera Bibi were killed on the spot. The cause of the incident was stated to be a family feud.

Father of the victims Mohammad Azhar Shah lodged FIR against the two accused at police station Katlang, Mardan. However the culprits fled.

It may be added that crimes against women in the district were on the rise and a number of women particularly young girls were becoming victims in most of the family disputes.
