KARACHI, June 24: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik while emphasising that the disabled cricketers were equal to other players, termed the formation of the Pakistan’s Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) a great achievement.

Malik expressed these views while speaking at a reception hosted in the honour of Pakistan team on Monday for winning the tri-nation limited-overs series earlier this month in Bangladesh, here at a local hotel by the PDCA.

The Pakistan skipper hoped the disabled cricketers would bring laurels to the country.

He offered his services for the disabled cricketers and complimented PDCA President Saleem Karim, Secretary Ameeruddin and Manager Mohammad Nizam for forming this body.

Meanwhile, Younis Khan, Pakistan’s premier batsman, stated that he would form a disabled team in Peshawar under his personal supervision after the Asia Cup.

Younis called for supporting the cause of disabled cricketers and anchoring them.

The reception was also attended by several Pakistan cricketers including vice-captain Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Umar Gul, Yasir Hameed, Bazid Khan, Rao Iftikhar, Wahab Riaz besides fielding coach Mohtashim Rasheed.—APP
