LAHORE, June 24: Khwaja Haris took over as Punjab advocate general here on Tuesday.

Earlier, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif sent a summary regarding Haris’ appointment to Governor Salman Taseer for approval a month ago. The governor, however, kept it pending. Now, when he is abroad, said an official, the CM withdrew the summary and moved a fresh one. PA Speaker Rana Iqbal, being acting governor, approved the move which was sent to the Law Department, where the law secretary notified his appointment. — Reporter
