KARACHI, June 24: By an interim order, an SHC division bench comprising Justices Abbasy and Bin Yamin stayed the bidding for award of contract for the PBX parking lot behind the Karachi Stock Exchange.

Petitioner Mohammad Riaz submitted through Advocate Fiaz H. Shah that the Pakistan Railways had awarded him contract till 2009 for running the parking lot and realising parking charges. Still, it invited fresh bids for the same contract through a newspaper advertisement on June 19. The auction, according to the PR advertisement, is scheduled to be held later on June 24. The bench issued notices to the respondents and stayed the auction.
