NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 23: Apprehending forcible marriage of their 11-year old daughter by one Taj Mohammad in collusion with the police, Mohammad Hanif Solangi and Hasina, father and mother respectively of the minor girl, have sought protection from the higher authorities.

Talking to journalist here on Monday, they maintained that their relative Taj Mohammad Solangi came to their house about two months ago and demanded to give her 11-year-old daughter Maseena in marriage to his son Usman. In return, Ms Hasina sought marriage of her son Hatim with Taj Mohammad’s daughter which was rejected.

She said that after one week, Taj Mohammad again came to their house and told her that her husband (Mohammad Hanif) had agreed to get her daughter married with his son Usman, but the proposal was rejected.

Ms Hasina said that Taj Mohammad became annoyed and threatened that if she refused to give her daughter, he will get it done through use of force.

She further said that Taj Mohammad and his son Usman approached Naushahro Feroze police who arrested her son Hatim about 10 days ago who was released on intervention of an influential person.

Mohammad Hanif said that on Sunday night, Taj Mohammad, his son Usman and three armed men forcibly entered their house, beat them up and tried to kidnap his daughter Maseena.

Mohammad Hanif said that he went to police station on Monday but police refused to register his FIR.

The victim family appealed to the higher authorities to provide them protection and also help lodge their FIR against the accused.

MAN KILLS SISTER: A woman was killed by her brother in village Laiq Jatoi near Mohbat Dero Jatoi, on Monday.

According to reports, Mukhtiar went to the house of her sister Allah Wasai, wife of Shahan Jatoi, and asked her to give her one goat to him.

When she refused to give her goat, Mukhtiar became angry and opened fire on her as a result of which she died on the spot.

Her body was brought to taluka hospital Kandiaro for post-mortem. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

ACCIDENT: A man died in an accident while crossing the road near Naushahro Feroze on Monday. Jamaluddin Kalhoro 50, resident of Khoso Sharif, was crossing the National Highway when a speedy coach coming from Sukkur hit him as a result of which he was critically injured.

He was taken to Civil Hospital Naushahro Feroze where he succumbed to his injuries.

Naushahro Feroze police have impounded the vehicle and arrested coach driver Yousuf Mangi. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
