Misha shines for Diya Club with hat-trick
By Our Sports Reporter
KARACHI, June 22: Misha Dawood’s hat-trick propelled Diya Club to a convincing 6-0 victory over Sindh Soccerites in the Inter-club women’s football championship’s Karachi zone match at Colony Sports Stadium on Sunday.
While it was a one-sided affair between the two sides, right-winger Misha was the pick of the Diya attack.
Midfielder Hina Javed opened the scoring in the 13th minute through a penalty kick awarded after Soccerites’ defender Zara handled the ball inside the box.
Hina got her double through another penalty kick in the 30th minute when defender Saniya also touched the ball.
The winners dominated the game yet into the second half as Misha came into action in the 41st, 52nd and 58th minutes to score her hat-trick.
Striker Faryal Shah sealed the fate of the game when she slotted home in the 60th minute.
Earlier, Karachi Kickers were awarded a walkover against Karachi Dolphins, who have already lost the only match they played against Colony Club on Friday.
Diya and Karachi Kickers have four points each after Sunday’s game.
Tuesday’s fixtures:
Colony Club vs Sindh Soccerites at Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am; Diya Club vs Karachi Dolphins at Aga Khan Gymkhana at 5.30pm.
