HYDERABAD: Housing society body wants issues resolved

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, June 22: The office-bearers of Daman-i-Khohsar Housing Society have appealed to the authorities to come to the rescue of the people who have been allotted plots in the housing scheme and urged the government to get their problem resolved.

Daman-i-Kohsar Housing Society chairman Dr Waheedul Hassan, president Arshad Rajput and vice-chairman Aftab Ahmed Qureshi told a press conference here on Sunday that the Sindh Board of Revenue was not issuing challans to them as per recommendation made by the then commissioner of defunct Hyderabad division in 2000.

They said the plots should be leased out to them on pattern of Sindh Goth Abad Scheme and not as per actual market price of the land.

They said that there were over 600 people who had been allotted plots in the scheme who purchased it in 1993.

However, they said, subsequently such entries in the name of the owners of plots had been cancelled by the then commissioner on the grounds that builders of this scheme had committed fraud and the land belonged to the government.

They claimed that the affected people had not committed any fraud, therefore, the land should be given to them.

“We only want that our issues resolved. And if there is any hurdle it should be removed by the government and land should be allotted to us and other victims,” they said.
