Sacked teachers to be reinstated: minister

DADU, June 21: All teachers appointed in 1998 and subsequently sacked would be reinstated after submission of report by the Additional Secretary of Education Department, said Sindh Minister for Education Pir Mazharul Haq. Orders of reinstatement, he added, will be handed over to teachers according to merit.
Addressing the birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto at the Civil Hospital, Dadu, he said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had approved mega scheme of drainage and water supply and beautification of Dadu at a cost of Rs400 million because of the collapse of drainage system.
He said Taluka Nazim Dadu failed to provide facilities to people, therefore, the DCO had been directed to look after all schemes and affairs of the TMA. He said Taluka Nazim had been suspended due to collapse of drainage and sanitation system.
Regarding ad-hoc teachers, the minister said a summary had been sent to the Chief Minister for approval. He said Dadu Sugar Mills, Pyaro Goth would also be restarted.
He threatened action against irrigation officials if shortage of water problem was not addressed, accordingly.
A delegation of sacked lady doctors of the Civil Hospital Dadu led by Dr Shazia Panhwar and Dr Nargis Memon met him. He got a briefing from Civil Surgeon Dr Toufiq about the hospital.
The civil surgeon informed minister about shortage of funds and termination of lady doctors’ services. He said hospital was facing problems due to paucity of funds and sacking of lady doctors.
Lady doctors said that they were appointed by EDO Health who after three months of their service sacked them.
Sindh minister formed a committee headed by Civil Surgeon Dr Toufiq Memon, EDO Heath Dr Rafique Kolachi and PPP leader Dr Amjad Birhamani to look into the matter.
BOYCOTT: Doctors and staff of Taluka Hospital Sehwan boycotted outpatient department against the kidnapping of Medical Superintendent of Taluka Hospital Dr Moin Siddiqui late on Friday.
They staged demonstration on Sehwan-Dadu Indus Highway under the leadership of Ghulam Rasool Daudpoto and Dr Amanullah Lakhair who blamed police for not making efforts to trace the kidnappee and warned to continue protest if Dr Moin Siddique was not recovered.
Dr Amanullah Lakhair said four people were kidnapped from Jamshoro district who till date had not been recovered.
