KARACHI, June 21: Vice-Admiral Noman Bashir has been appointed as Commander Karachi with immediate effect.

The change of command ceremony was held at the naval unit Bahadur on Saturday where the outgoing commander, Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin, formally handed over the command to Vice-Admiral Noman Bashir, who was presented guard of honour upon his arrival at the venue.

The new commander will be in-charge of all naval establishments and shore-based units at Karachi and also head various organizations as ex-officio president/chairman.—APP
