SHIKARPUR, June 21: A container driver and his helper were kidnapped from Shikarpur-Jacobabad road near Makholpur police post in the limits of Humayun police station on Saturday.

Ghulam Dastagir Pathan and Sanaullah Pathan were kidnapped by armed highwaymen when they were going to Karachi from Quetta in their truck. The armed men left the container on the road.

KILLED: A man, Nabi Bux alias Naboo Abro, killed his sister, Rani Abro, 28, with knife over some domestic dispute in village Seelra in the jurisdiction of Humayun police station on Saturday.

FREED: A man, Badaruddin Jalbani, of village Mohbat Unnar, who was kidnapped in the jurisdiction of Garhi Yasin police station about a week ago, reached his home on Saturday.

Sources said that notables of the area and police had exerted pressure on the kidnappers for his release.

DEMO: Farmers belonging to Gopang and other communities staged a demonstration and blocked the Jacobabad-Ratodero road to protest against the shortage of water in Nim Shakh (branch) on Saturday.

They demanded of the irrigation authorities to release water in their branch to enable them to sow paddy crops.
