Policeman killed in Khuzdar

QUETTA, June 19: A police official was killed by unidentified armed men in Khuzdar town on Thursday evening.

Sub-Inspector Ghulam Mustafa Rao was passing through the Hospital road when the assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on him. He died on the spot.

Baloch Liberation Army spokesman Beebargh Baloch claimed the responsibility for the killing.

Calling from an unknown place, he also claimed that militants also attacked a convoy of security forces in Chapi-kach area in Kahan tehsil of Kohlu district and killed over half a dozen soldiers.

Man killed

A Pakistani national was killed and another was injured when they were crossing the Iranian border on Thursday.

According to official sources, two people belonging to a border village of Kalag in Panjgur district went to Chedgi area near the Pakistan-Iran border.

When they tried to cross into Iran to meet their relatives, the Iranian security forces opened fire without any warning, killing Hasan Jan and injuring his cousin.
