Brother, sister drown in Gilgit

GILGIT, June 19: A brother and his sister, residents of Islamabad, G/6-3, drowned in Kargah Nullah, Gilgit.

According to the police, the local volunteers managed to retrieve the body of the girl while her brother was still missing.

Mr Sarfaraz had come to Gilgit to attend marriage of his relatives. During his visit he and his family went to Kargah Nullah for excursion.

Police said his daughter Maryam and son Saeed slipped and fell into turbulent stream and drowned.

Local people tried to save them but failed to do so. The body of the girl was dispatched to Islamabad for burial.—Correspondent
