KARACHI: Lyari roads in bad shape

KARACHI, June 19: Authorities have dug up various roads in Lyari Town on the pretext of development work but the entire operation has been carried out in an unorganised manner creating difficulties for the area residents already haunted by a number of other problems.

Road digging has been going on in different localities of the town for the past two months and it has left many roads including the two main arteries of the town — Shah Latif Bhittai Road and Shah Waliullah Road — almost inaccessible not only to vehicular traffic but even the pedestrians are facing immense difficulties. The digging has also damaged water lines on a portion of Bhittai Road near Lyari Government Girls College further making the road impassable for the pedestrians and motorists.
