Man kills wife over karo-kari

JACOBABAD, June 18: A woman was killed by her husband on the pretext of karo-kari in Garhi Chand village in the jurisdiction of the Abad police on Wednesday.

Ms Arbeli was at her home when her husband Deedar Khokhar opened fire on her, killing her on the spot.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, a kidnap victim was released by kidnappers on Wednesday.

Asif Pathan, a dispenser at a private hospital, was kidnapped from near Eidgah here a month ago.

The police claimed that Asif had been freed by the kidnappers due to their pressure but people believed that he had been released after paying ransom.
