MIRPURKHAS, June 18: Shutter-down strike was observed in Samaro town and partial strike was observed and a rally was taken out in Umerkot on Tuesday to protest against the kidnapping of a trader.

Mukhi Amolakh was on morning walk in Samaro when unidentified armed men in a black vehicle kidnapped him a few days ago. In Samaro main shopping centres remained closed while partial strike was observed in Umerkot. Members of Hindu community, led by Seth Abhemal, took out a rally from Thar bus stop to the press club in Umerkot.

The protesters, carrying banners and placards, demanded immediate recovery of the kidnapped trader and arrest of kidnappers.

A delegation of Hindu community members met DCO Ghulam Akbar Leghari who assured them that administration was making efforts for early recovery of Mr Amolakh.—BoC
