The task force has been given the mandate to formulate recommendations for the city which will be a centre of excellence for education.

Former federal minister for education Ahsan Iqbal had sent the summary of the project to the prime minister for approval.

Federal minister for education will head the task force. Other members of the task force will be secretaries education, information technology, planning; chairman CDA, chairman Higher Education Commission, director general Federal Directorate of Education and president Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The task force will also review the current education systems in the world to come up with a suitable education policy.
