KARACHI, June 17: Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed serious reservations over the increase in import duty from 20 to 30 per cent on all types of milk powder, announced in the budget 2008-09.
The increase will push the prices of dry milk up putting more burdens on the consumers, a KCCI statement said here on Tuesday.
It urged the government to immediately withdraw the hike in customs duty on import of dry milk and bring it to the previous level of 20 per cent.—APP
