Textile University shut again

By Our Staff Correspondent

FAISALABAD, June 16: The National Textile University (NTU), which resumed its class on June 9, was closed for an indefinite period on Monday after students’ refusal to join classes without acceptance of their demands, sources told Dawn.

NTU Registrar Dr Zubair issued a notification about the closure of the university.

Students of the university have been protesting since April 2 for the university accreditation with the Pakistan Engineering Council and the removal of the vice chancellor. The NTU resumed its activities on June 9 but students did not attend their classes.

A faculty member seeking anonymity said the situation was still tense in the academia and owing to this the administration closed the institution.

The VC was repeatedly called by this scribe, but he did not attend his cell phone.
