HYDERABAD: Medical colleges cut admission test fee

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, June 16: A meeting to finalize policy of admission to MBBS and BDS in the LUMHS, Chandika Medical College Larkana, Nawabshah Medical College and Sardar Ghulam Mohammad Mahar Medical College was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of LUMHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Noshad Ahmed Shaikh.

It was decided to reduce the admission test fee from Rs1,700 to Rs1,400 as this will provide incentive to about 10,000 students appearing in the entry test of LUMHS despite the fact that cost of printing material and other items had increased.

The Admission Committee unanimously approved to engage Institute of Business Management, Karachi, for holding admission test.

It was decided to hold test in mid September keeping in view the confusion students face regarding the test in July which is prior to their HSC-Part 11 results.

It was decided to sign a MoU with the Habib Bank for sale and receipt of forms instead of through the courier service (TCS) to save students from further financial burden.

The meting was attended by Principals of medical colleges and Registrar and Director Admissions of the LUMHS.

EXAMS: The controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, has announced that MD Paediatrics, MS Orthopaedics and MS Urology postgraduate degree examination will be held on June 21 at the LUMHS.
