NAWABSHAH: Family accuses landlord of selling land

By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, June 15: A poor family of the Zardari caste continued their token hunger strike for third consecutive day on Sunday in protest against a landlord of Shahdadpur, who they said had sold their agricultural land unlawfully.

Sadiq Zardari along with his wife and three children told newsmen outside Nawabshah Press Club that an influential landlord of Shahdadpur sold their six acres of agriculture land for Rs600,000 to someone a few years ago, and had assured him that he would get them another piece of land soon.

Sadiq said that he kept demanding possession of the land or money but the landlord, Qazim Zardari, kept ignoring him.

He said he was a very poor man and he and his family were going through a difficult time.

He informed that he took a letter of MNA Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho to the landlord who instead of resolving the matter, threatened him with dire consequences.

He has appealed to PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, MNA Faryal Talpur and MNA Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho to provide him justice otherwise he and his family would commit self-immolation outside Nawabshah Press Club.
