KHANEWAL, June 14: A couple was gunned down by their close relative over a property dispute in Havaili Koranga area, about 47 km from here, on late Friday.

Reports said one Sher Ali had a property dispute with his nephew Basit Ali for the last three years. On Friday night, the accused, Basit, entered the house of his uncle, along with his three accomplices Khizer, Umar and Jahanzeb, and opened fire on Sher and his wife Raheela Bibi, killing them both on the spot. The accused managed to escape.

A police official said a case had been registered against Basit and his accomplices.
