Zakat bodies will be dissolved

LAHORE, June 13: All provincial and district Zakat committees in the province will be dissolved and reconstituted, says Punjab Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the formation of a committee to examine the dissolution and reconstitution of the Punjab Zakat Council and district zakat committees, he said.

A committee headed by senior minister Raja Riaz Ahmad comprises Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Local Government Minister Dost Muhammad Khosa and Zakat and Ushr Department Secretary Tauqir Ahmad Faiq will meet soon to liaise and coordinate with the federal government accordingly.
