KARACHI, June 13: Police shot dead a bandit and arrested his associate in injured condition, while their third accomplice managed to flee in Defence.

Police said that three robbers scaled the wall of a bungalow in Khayaban-i-Bahria, held the family at gunpoint and started searching for cash and valuables.

SP Clifton Azad Khan said that a female member of the family, who was on the first floor, sensed danger and phoned her son who lived nearby. Her son informed the police about the presence of bandits inside the house. As police reached the spot, the fleeing suspects opened fire at them.
