MIRPURKHAS: Three perish as lightning strikes

MIRPURKHAS, June 13: Two people were killed in the Jati area of Thatta district and another perished in Umerkot when lightning struck them on Friday.

The two killed by lightning in Jati area have been identified as Mir Mohammad Mallah and Longe Mallah, according to our Thatta correspondent.

A farmer was killed while another injured when lightning struck them during rain in Rana Jagir area, about six kilometres away from Umerkot town.

Laloo Bheel died on the spot while another farmer, whose name could not be ascertained, sustained burn injuries.

Umerkot town and its adjoining areas received light rain on Friday evening.

As the rain started, children went out of their house and began dancing on streets. The rain lowered the temperature.
