KARACHI: BCom Part-I results

KARACHI, June 13: The University of Karachi on Friday announced the results of BCom Part- I (external) annual examination 2007.

According to the statistics, a total of 7,013 candidates appeared in the examination and 602 of them were declared successful.

Firing by candidate

In a separate release, the university administration said that students taking their MA (previous) International Relations paper at the Shaikh Zayed Islamic Research Centre on Friday were disturbed by a candidate who resorted to firing in the air upon being asked to stop using unfair means.

Invigilator Malik Abdul Qadeer Ghauri said he caught Azeem Ali son of Mohammad Ali using unfair means and asked him to surrender his answer sheet. However, the candidate brandished a TT pistol and started firing in the air, creating panic among candidates at the centre. Later, he fled the centre waving his weapon.

Witnesses said that scared candidates ran for safety and many of them left the room in panic while Azeem was firing.

KU controller of examinations Maqsood Hussain has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
