33 coaches attend IAAF course

ISLAMABAD, June 12: Thirty-three coaches of the affiliated units of Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) reported at the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), Coaches Education & Certification System (CECS) course being organized by the Athletics Federation of Pakistan with the collaboration of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Thursday.

The course is a prerequisite qualification for the IAAF CECS Level-II course. Top 24 coaches will be awarded certificates sent by the IAAF.

Qualification for Level-II will be determined by the IAAF on the basis of their performance in written examination and practical.

Speaking on the opening day of the ten-day course Mohammad Khalid, General Secretary AFP, said that this is first ever coaching course held in Pakistan to boost the game in the country.

AFP secretary said the IAAF has also provided the course participants with kids playing equipment for school level competitions while the coaches will also be trained for handling the equipment.
