Jobs sought on deceased employees quota

By Our Correspondent

MITHI, June 12: Primary Teachers Association, Tharparkar Chapter, has urged the authorities to direct district administration to issue appointment orders for youths on deceased and disabled government employees’ quota.

President PTA Ramzan Samejo and others told Dawn on Thursday that a Sindh government notification of March 11, 2008 mentions: “Where as civil servant dies while in service or is declared invalidated or incapacitated for further service, one of his children will be provided job on any of the basic pay scales 1 to 15 in the department where the deceased, declared invalidated or incapacitated civil servant was working, without observing the prescribed formalities, if such child is otherwise eligible for the post in accordance with recruitment rules.”

The PTA office-bearers alleged that in compliance to said notification, appointments under this quota were being made by the administration of some other district but had not yet in Tharparkar district creating resentment among eligible youths.

They demanded of the government to provide jobs to Tharis deserving appointment on deceased or disabled quota.
