LAHORE, June 11: Punjab IG Shaukat Javed has taken a serious notice for not recovering the abducted daughter of an aggrieved woman and directed the Lodhran DPO to initiate stern action against the responsible police officials.

The IG also directed to recover the abducted girl and produce her before the court.

He issued this direction while taking an action on the complaint of Mst Irshad Mai of Lodhran in an open court here on Wednesday.

The woman submitted an application to the IGP that four accused had abducted her daughter, but the police failed to recover her.

As many as 41 people from across the province presented their applications on which the IGP issued written orders to the police officers concerned for their quick redressal.

Salma Bibi of Nankana Sahib told the IGP that an ASI was not arresting the eight accused nominated in the FIR for committing a dacoity in her house. She alleged the ASI had taken Rs50,000 in bribe from the accused.

The IG ordered the Nankana DPO to hold an inquiry and take strict action against the ASI if found guilty of charges.

Zulfiqar Ali of Muzaffargarh complained that Muhammad Nawaz had abducted his son Naveed Akhtar, but the police was not arresting the accused. At this, the IG directed the Muzaffargarh DPO to recover the child and arrest the culprits and submit a report to him within 10 days.

Likewise, Khalid Javed of Qila Gujjar Singh, Lahore, complained to the IG that he had given Rs250,000 to Shaukat Dogar for the purchase of land, but he was neither giving him the plot nor returning his money.

The IG directed the SSP (Operations) to register a case against the accused and redress the grievance of the complainant.

Liaquat Ali complained that Zulfiqar Mustafa had given him a cheque, which was dishonoured. He said the investigation officer concerned helped the accused to get the pre-arrest bail instead of arresting him.

IG Shaukat Javed directed the DIG (investigation) to take action against the investigation officer and get the bail of the accused cancelled.
