KARACHI: HSC exam forms of 40 candidates cancelled

KARACHI, June 10: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, during the scrutiny process has detected 40 forged examination forms submitted by private candidates for appearing in the Higher Secondary Certificate (Part-I) annual examinations-2008, which began on Tuesday.

All these forms, which were submitted only a few days back with late fees, not only contained forged documents but the signatures of principals and their attestation required for the verification of candidates’ names, address and documents were also found fake.

The BIEK has cancelled all the 40 forms of the candidates for the HSC (Part-I) annual examinations-2008 after detecting their supporting documents as fake.

After a thorough scrutiny of the credentials of all such candidates, a BIEK spokesman said, the board’s officials had found that signatures of principals of various colleges on the examination forms of these candidates were forged and the stamps were not genuine, besides, the supplemented documents and credentials were also forged.

BIEK chairman Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai declared the forms of these 40 candidates as per calendar of the board cancelled. Of the total 40 candidates whose forms had been declared invalid, 18 were female candidates and 22 male candidates. All the candidates had been notified about the board’s decision of cancellation of their examination forms through letters at their given residential addresses and an inquiry into matter would be initiated shortly after the examinations were over.—Staff Reporter
