Police recover abducted boy
OKARA, June 9: Police on Monday recovered an eight-year-old boy kidnapped 12 days ago from Jiwaya Balooch village for a Rs0.5 million ransom.
Reports said Muhammad Anwar of Jiwaya Balooch village engaged one Farman Ali as servant in his house who developed illicit relations with his wife. Both planned elopement and to arrange money for the purpose, Farman kidnapped, Sajid, eight-year-old son of Anwar.
Farman started contacting Anwar through different cell phone numbers, demanding Rs0.5 million as ransom for release of his son. Meanwhile, Anwar got registered an FIR 441/08 with Haveli Lakkha police on May 27 under section 363 of the PPC.
SHO Agha Nasir, with the help of government agencies, succeeded in tracing the last call made by the accused from Gujranwala area. The SHO, along with a heavy police contingent, raided a poultry farm and recovered the boy. Farman, somehow, managed to escape before the raid.
According to preliminary police investigation, Framan originally belonged to Sindh and had given his employer a bogus address of Chak Bedi, Pakpattan district. He was also wanted by Sindh police in various cases of dacoity and kidnap for ransom, the police said.—Correspondent
