QUETTA, June 9: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has directed the interior ministry to remove the name of Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, son of late Nawaz Akbar Bugti, from the exit control list.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani issued a short order to that effect on Monday.Mr Bugti had pleaded in a petition that he was suffering from pain in backbone and neck and doctors had advised him to go abroad for treatment.

The petitioner also requested the court to issue directives for lifting restrictions on his bank accounts which had been frozen on the directives of the federal government.

Advocates Athar Victor and Ayaz Zahoor appeared on the behalf of the petitioner and the deputy attorney-general and advocate general of Balochistan represented the state.
