By Our Correspondent

KHAIRPUR, June 9: An under-interrogation suspect tried to commit suicide in the lockup of the Sobhodero police station on Sunday, the police said.

According to the police, Mujahid Hussain Shaikh, who had been arrested four days ago, tried to commit suicide by cutting his throat and other parts of body with a blade. He was taken to the Civil Hospital Khairpur.

His relatives accused the police of torturing him and endangering his life.

When contacted, the Sobhodero SHO said that Shaikh was a kidnapper and he had been arrested for interrogation in some kidnapping cases.
