ISLAMABAD, June 6: Chief Justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar has called a meeting of the Chief Justice’s Committee on Saturday, two days ahead of lawyers’ planned long march to discuss among many other things the ongoing projects under the Access to Justice Development Fund.

Presided over by the chief justice, the meeting will also be attended by Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court Justice Haziqul Khairi, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Zahid Hussain Bokhari, Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Azizullah Memon, Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Mohammad Raza Khan, Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam.

Though the agenda of the meeting, according to an informed source, contains routine matters, the issue of June 10 long march for the restoration of deposed judges could also be taken up for discussion.

In the last meeting on March 14, the chief justice’s committee had asked for immediate increase in the existing strength of judges in all the high courts and then filling of these vacancies on urgent basis to overcome the mounting issue of backlog.
