Shoaib hearing on schedule

Published June 5, 2008

LAHORE, June 4: The induction of a new member in the PCB’s Appellate Tribunal hearing Shoaib Akhtar’s appeal against a five-year ban, will not delay the next hearing to be held on June 8.

Justice (rtd) Aftab Farrukh, head of the tribunal, said the new member Naveed Chaudhry, who was included in place of Salman Taseer, had been given the record of the case, therefore, there was no need to extend the date.

Salman, after being appointed as Governor Punjab recently, preferred to quit the tribunal. Chairman of the PCB Dr Nasim Ashraf appointed Naveed as replacement. Haseeb Ahsan, a former Test cricketer, is another member of the tribunal.
