SHIKARPUR: Canal breach

SHIKARPUR, June 4: A 50-feet breach developed in Rato canal at RD-6 in the Garhi Yasin area on Tuesday.

Around 50 houses of Mohammad Nawaz Deenari village were submerged in flood water. Villagers were trying to plug the breach.

Villagers said that they did not receive support from the Irrigation Department for plugging the breach.

INJURED: Two constables of Khanpur police were injured in an encounter with dacoits near Gohar Shakh on Shikarpur-Kandhkot Road.

Police constables Ghulam Abbas Sanjrani and Abdul Majeed Dayo were injured when an encounter took place between dacoits and police deployed to help cross safely the convoy of vehicles from their jurisdiction.
