LPG prices raised by Rs1.5/kg

KARACHI, June 3: The LPG Distributors Association Pakistan said on Tuesday that marketing companies had again raised prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs15 per 11.8 kg cylinder, Rs60 per 45.4 kg cylinder and Rs1.5 per kg.

The association chairman Abdul Hadi Khan in a statement said that due to the negligence of the government, the LPG producers and marketing companies were constantly increasing the LPG prices.

He accused the LPG producers of hatching a conspiracy to link local LPG prices to the Saudi Aramco price.

He said that in Karachi the LPG prices had reached Rs55 per kg, Rs580 per 11.8 kg cylinder, and Rs2156 per 45.4 kg. In Lahore the LPG prices touched Rs59.50 per kg, Rs625 per 11.8 kg cylinder, and Rs2,407 per 45.4 kg cylinder. In NWFP the LPG price is Rs65 per kg.

He further said that the last month LPG prices jumped by Rs10 per kg, Rs100 per 11.8-kg cylinder and Rs400 per 45.4-kg cylinder.

He said that the authorised distributors had expressed concern over price increase by the LPG producers and marketing companies, while the government is acting as a silent spectator.

Mr. Khan demanded of the government to intervene and foil the conspiracy of linking the LPG prices with international market.—PPI
