SUKKUR, June 2: The prisoners protest in the central jail-I of Sukkur was continued on Sunday.

The protest against not producing prisoners in courts and denying them of basic facilities by the jail authorities was started on Saturday.

On Saturday when the prisoners were allowed to come out of their barracks, they started protest against the jail authorities. They raised slogans against them and many of the prisoners climbed on the rooftop of the barracks and set ablaze their beddings.

Later, the protest ended on the assurance by the officials that the under-trial prisoners would be regularly produced in courts and the inmates would be provided facilities according to jail manual.
