KARACHI, June 2: Two ships scheduled to load/offload containers and edible oil were berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers and cement also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships, Alpana, Mallau, Fair Partner, United Star, Navajo Spirit, Holmen and Venus, were busy in loading and offloading containers, edible oil, general cargo, coal, crude oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 40,560 tons comprising 36,156 tons of import and 4,404 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only Alpana left the port while Holmen, Maliau and United Star were expected to depart on Monday.
