PML-N asked to develop consensus on major issues

By Our Correspondent

ATTOCK, June 1: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Malik Hakmeen Khan has urged the PML-N leadership to pull the country out of the prevailing internal and external crises by developing a consensus on major issues instead of following emotional politics.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said the prevailing situation demanded that all political forces should take collective measures to rid the country of the crises.

“After nine years’ struggle, democracy has been restored in the country, but unfortunately some anti-democratic forces are hatching conspiracy to destabilise the system,” he regretted.

Therefore, civil society, lawyers, political and religious figures should realise their responsibilities and extend cooperation and support to the government not only to strengthen the democratic and political system but also to expose the nefarious designs of the conspirators.

He said the PPP would never take any step against the interest of the nation and all issues including restoration of deposed judges and price hike would be resolved with a consensus. All political parties should work for prosperity and solidarity of the country, he added.
