By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 31: The civil judge and judicial magistrate-III, central, Khushi Mohammad, on Saturday reissued a show-cause notice to the investigation officer, directing him to submit the charge-sheet till June 10 in a case pertaining to the death of a bank defaulter.

A show-cause notice was earlier issued to the investigator on May 27 when he failed to comply with the court order.

The prosecution said that 26-year-old Mohammad Tufail Shah, who defaulted on a loan, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house in New Karachi on April 27. Earlier in the day a loan recovery team had visited the Tufail’s house and had reportedly misbehaved with his mother and sister, which caused him immense stress and depression.

Police arrested the suspect, Sheikh Mohammad Atif, on May 2. A case (FIR No 87/2008) was registered under Sections 322, 316, 504 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code at New Karachi police station on the complaint of the deceased’s mother.

Another court, meanwhile, issued a show-cause notice to the investigation officer in a case against three policemen for allegedly opening fire on two youths.

The civil judge and judicial magistrate, central, Sohail Ahmed, reissued a show-cause notice to the investigation officer via deputy inspector-general (investigations), directing the IO to submit the charge-sheet till June 7.

Police constables Mohammad Imran, Arif Hussain and Salman Farsi had allegedly opened fire on Zubair Khan and Mohammad Saqib, who were on motorcycle, near Sakhi Hasan on March 21. Both the victims were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Zubair succumbed to his injuries, while Saqib survived.
