PESHAWAR, May 31: A physiotherapist was kidnapped for ransom, his colleagues said here on Saturday.

Physiotherapist Mohammad Riaz was serving at the Rehman Medical Institute Hayatabad. He was reportedly taken to the tribal region of Darra Adamkhel.

Dr Yousuf Ali, a colleague, told Dawn that Mr Riaz had been kidnapped on Friday from somewhere on way to his village Toor Warshak Buner. The captors, using his cellphone, had demanded a ransom of Rs15 million for his release.

The kidnappers, he said, had claimed to have shifted him to Darra Adamkhel along with his car. — Bureau Report
