Couple shot dead in Kashmir


SRINAGAR, May 29: Indian troops shot dead a man and his wife who were suspected members of a militant group in occupied Kashmir, police said on Thursday.

The couple, believed to be members of Lashkar-i-Toiba which wants to join the region with Pakistan, was killed in a gunfight following a joint raid by army and police in the southern district of Doda, a police statement said.—AFP
