GUJRANWALA, May 29: A worker was killed and five others were injured when a scrap bomb exploded in a furnace at Aroop Morr on Thursday.

The workers were throwing scrap in the furnace owned by Mirza Muhammad Iqbal when the bomb exploded. As a result, six workers were injured.

They were taken to the district hospital, where one of the injured succumbed to his burns. Two other workers were said to be in a critical condition.

ARRESTED: The Federal Investigation Agency arrested human smuggler in a raid on Thursday. Accused Mukhtar Ahmad, who is former private assistant of the Mandi Bahauddin district coordination officer, was arrested from Chak Wasaya.
