Filling stations ‘create fuel shortage’

Dawn Report

NAROWAL/SIALKOT, May 29: Filling station owners in Narowal and Sialkot districts have created petrol, diesel and CNG shortage after rumors that the prices of diesel and petrol would be increased from Rs3 to 4 per liter from June 1. Motorists are facing difficulties in getting fuel. All filling stations are refusing the customers to sell fuel saying hey are out of stock.

Long queues of vehicles were seen in and around filling stations in Sialkot Cantt, Sialkot city, Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Uggoki, Pasrur, Satrah, Badiana and Chawinda and parts of Narowal.

Unauthorised oil agencies within and around Narowal city are selling petrol at Rs100 per litre. Dawn learnt petrol pump owners were selling petrol through these unauthorised oil agencies to make big profits.

People castigated owners of the filling stations for creating a critical situation for more gains.
