KARACHI, May 29: Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Sabzwari has said that the government is considering various proposals aimed at guiding and enabling the youth to build their own future.

Speaking as chief guest at the six-day training workshop, which began here on Tuesday, at the Naib Nazim Secretariat (old KMC Building), he said the youth should develop leadership qualities through hard work. They should set a goal and make concerted efforts to achieve it, he added. The minister said that the youth must keep themselves fully prepared to face challenges of the future besides joining in the collective efforts for the betterment of society.

The workshop focusing on youth leadership has been organised by the City Institute of Image Management (CIIM). City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil, who addressed the workshop on the third consecutive day, told the participants that leadership was not a quality that could be attributed to those at the helm of affairs or a politician but everyone could explore his own leadership qualities and demonstrate them in his field of interest. She said the youth should also learn to attain leadership qualities and understand the dynamics of human behaviour before taking any initiative that could propel them to the place where they wanted to reach in order to lead a team, an organisation or the nation.

Earlier, training consultant Shakeel Ahmed Khan explained the workshop’s theme: “Let’s discover leader in you” and discussed the role of the media in moulding the character of the youth.

Rashid Nadeem, Tanveer Ishrat, Ms Mariam and Shahid Ashraf of the British Council also spoke at the workshop.
