KARACHI, May 29: A dozen ships carrying general cargo, tallow and to load clinkers and ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where four ships, Tigris to unload coal, Hyundai Duke to unload and load containers, Ocean Friend and Chitral to offload and load general cargo were berthed after the departure of seven.

The departing ships were led by APL Jeddah, Sinar Bintan, City of Xiamen, Ninth Ocean, Hoegh Pusan, Mariana-3 and Yasa Ithan, while Johar, R.M. Power, Khairpur, Global Prosperity, APL Cairo, Panagia-1, Kota Permatt and Hyun Jin Ks-3 are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves where a total tonnage amounted to 130,960 tons comprising 35,509 tons of export cargo and 95,451 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Chemstar Princess with 7,000 tons of tallow, Chemroad Nova to load ethanol, Blue Diamond to load naphtha, Cape Ann, Hansa Stavanger, Oel Trust, Y. M. Inventive, Lucky Man and Rhomeborg with containers, Conti Express with steel cargo, Surfing Ja and Noor-i-Madina to load 26,500 and 16,800 tons of clinkers, respectively.
