KARACHI, May 28: The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) has selected an under-16 girls’ netball team from Karachi schools to take part in the Southern Skies Tournament 2008, to be held in Brisbane, Australia from July 6 to 11.

According to Mudassar Arain, PNF’s secretary-general, it will be the first time for an under-16 girls’ netball team to take part in the event.

The selected 14 players are Rida Amjad, Shumama Qadri, Umama Qadri, Neena Zehri, Mariya, Fatima Sultan, Ghunwa, Unaiza Ali, Shumaila Zehri, Sana Afzal, Kanza, Sheeza Nadir, Monaza and Afreen Waqar.

The girls are to receive coaching and training from national coaches Maqbool Ahmed, Khalid Parvaiz and Mohammad Riaz at a camp commencing from Thursday under the supervision of Ms Uzma.
